Reasons to Have Your Home Blessed

We recently had our home blessed by a Catholic priest. Here are 4 Reasons to have your home blessed.
1. Inviting Jesus into your home:
~ When it comes to the spiritual realm, we can think in terms of inviting the “good“ in and keeping the “bad” out. We want to make sure we close any figurative doors to the “bad” and invite Jesus into our homes to bless and protect us.
2. Bringing someone with spiritual authority into your home for clearing & covering.
~ While there are things you can do to “take spiritual authority” over your home like Havilah Cunnington describes here:
-there is also a lot of power in having someone with spiritual authority coming in to do it with you.
We asked a priest from our church to come to our home. He is a very holy person which holds a lot of power in the spiritual realm that we cannot see.
Ephesians 6:12 “our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
When I think of a home blessing, I think of the two “C” words: Clearing & Covering. Evil is cleared out of the home by the Presence and authority of Jesus Christ.
Then, prayers for spiritual protection bring lasting “Covering” to your home. I like to think of it as guardian angels watching over you and your family and protecting your home from evil.
3. If you’ve got some “weird or bad stuff”going on in your home… or even a lingering feeling of oppression or negative forces. So this was what finally prompted me to have an actual Home Blessing if I’m being honest. Yes, we had weird stuff happen like toys going off by themselves in rooms of our house but it wasn’t until this happened that I seriously thought about getting our home blessed: our Ring doorbell was set off by motion around 2:30am and the video showed some weird looking orbs with eery sounds. Something about this was really unsettling and together with a few other things happening, I thought it was a good time to get some spiritual ”help”!

4. “It’s always just a good idea to have your home blessed”.
This is what a very kind woman at church said to me when I talked with her about this. You never know what kind of energy is lingering in your home from whomever lived there prior. And you never know what kind of energy or evil is affecting you or coming against you.
Energy affects you . And when people come to you home they may even feel a greater sense of peace after you’ve had your home blessed also. It was a beautiful experience to have our home blessed and pray together with a priest for our home and family.
