Time Management: Honoring God with Our Time

Introduction:

Time is one of the most valuable gifts God has given us. Every day, we are faced with choices on how to spend it—whether on work, rest, family, or distractions. As followers of Christ, we are called to be wise stewards of our time, using it in ways that bring glory to God and align with His purpose for our lives. When we manage our time well, we make room for what truly matters and avoid the stress of wasted opportunities.

Bible Verses:

  1. Ecclesiastes 3:1 – “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”

  2. Colossians 4:5 – “Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity.”

  3. Psalm 90:12 – “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

Heart Posture:

Imagine waking up feeling overwhelmed by all the tasks you need to complete—work, school, family responsibilities, and personal time with God. It’s easy to rush through the day without intentionality, leading to burnout or neglecting what’s most important. Instead of allowing stress to take over, you take a moment to pray, plan your day wisely, and set boundaries. By prioritizing time with God first, you find peace, clarity, and strength to manage everything else effectively.

God in Time Management:

God is the author of time, and when we invite Him into our schedule, He gives us wisdom and balance. Instead of relying on our own ability to organize our days, we can seek His guidance to make choices that reflect His will. By putting God first, we align our time with His purpose, ensuring that we invest in things that have eternal value.

Short Prayer:

Lord, thank You for the time You have given me each day. Help me to be a good steward of it, using my time wisely for Your glory. Give me wisdom to prioritize what truly matters, and teach me to rest in You rather than striving in my own strength. Guide my steps so that every moment reflects Your love and purpose. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
