United for the Kingdom: One Mission, One Purpose

Devotional

Missions is more than traveling to another country. It is an opportunity to become the hands and feet of Jesus and to work together for something greater than us: the Kingdom of God.

When we serve in Mexico, we may come from different backgrounds, have different personalities, and carry different gifts, but our purpose is the same—to glorify Christ and share His love with others. Unity does not mean that everyone thinks, works, or serves in exactly the same way. Unity means that we recognize that every person has a valuable place in the work God has called us to do.

Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 3:9, “For we are laborers together with God.”

What a privilege!

We are not working alone. Every prayer, conversation, meal served, child encouraged, person prayed for, and act of kindness can become part of God's greater purpose.

On a mission trip, it can be easy to focus on what we want to accomplish. But God may use the smallest act of obedience to impact someone's life. Our responsibility is not to compete over who does the most; it is to serve faithfully, encourage one another, and keep Christ at the center.

As we minister in Mexico, let us choose humility over recognition, cooperation over competition, and love over frustration. When we work together in unity, we demonstrate the character of Christ before we ever speak a word.

Reflection

Ask yourself: Am I contributing to unity, or am I allowing my preferences, pride, or frustrations to divide the team? What gift has God given me that I can use to serve others and advance His Kingdom?

Prayer

Father, thank You for allowing us to serve You in Mexico. Unite our hearts, strengthen our team, and help us remember that we are working together for Your Kingdom. Give us humility, patience, compassion, and servant hearts. Help us encourage one another and use every gift You have given us for Your glory. May our words, actions, and attitudes reflect Jesus to everyone we encounter. Let our mission produce lasting Kingdom impact. In Jesus' name, Amen.
