Week 1: The Call to Discipleship

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” — Matthew 28:19-20 (KJV)

Jesus’ final command before ascending to heaven was clear:

Go. Teach. Baptize.

This Great Commission is not just for pastors or missionaries—it is for every believer. Whether you are a mother raising godly children, a young person navigating faith in a complex world, a leader guiding others, or a new believer taking your first steps with Christ, discipleship is your calling.

To be a disciple means to follow Jesus closely and to help others do the same. It requires commitment, surrender, and a willingness to grow. It’s not about perfection but about a heart that seeks after God. Discipleship is a lifestyle—one that shapes how we pray, serve, and love.

A Call to Action

  1. For Youth – You are not too young to make an impact! Lead by example in faith, speech, and love (1 Timothy 4:12). Who in your school, home, or community needs to hear about Jesus?

  2. For Mothers & Women – Your home is your first mission field. Teach your children the Word. Encourage other women in faith. Lift up the next generation through prayer.

  3. For Gentlemen & Leaders – Lead with integrity and boldness. Be a man after God’s heart. Disciple others by living out Christ’s teachings in your workplace, home, and community.

  4. For New Believers – Your journey is just beginning. Stay rooted in the Word, seek guidance from mature believers, and trust that God will equip you for His purpose.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for calling me to be Your disciple. Strengthen my faith and give me the boldness to share Your truth. Help me to live out the Great Commission in my daily life. Open my eyes to those who need to hear about Your love, and use me for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Are you ready to step into your calling? This week, ask God to show you one person you can encourage in their faith. The journey starts with one step—will you take it?
