“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” — John 8:31-32 (KJV)
Discipleship is not a one-time decision but a lifelong commitment to abiding by Christ and His Word. Jesus makes it clear—true disciples continue in His teachings. This means consistently reading, studying, and living out His Word. In a world filled with confusion and lies, God’s truth is what sets us free.
Many people know about Jesus, but few truly abide in Him. To be a disciple is to let His Word shape your thoughts, actions, and decisions. It is about seeking Him daily, allowing Scripture to renew your mind, and standing on His promises no matter what comes your way.
A Call to Action
For Youth – Social media, entertainment, and peer pressure can drown out God’s voice. Will you set aside time daily to read His Word and let truth guide your life?
For Mothers & Women – You have the power to pass down faith to the next generation. Are you making the Bible a priority in your home and personal walk?
For Gentlemen & Leaders – The world needs men who stand firmly on God’s truth. Are you leading with wisdom that comes from Scripture, or relying on your own understanding?
For New Believers – Growth comes from abiding in God’s Word. Will you commit to spending time in Scripture every day, allowing the Holy Spirit to teach and transform you?
Prayer
Father, thank You for Your Word, which is truth and life. Help me to abide in it daily, to seek understanding, and to live in the freedom that comes from knowing You. Let my heart be hungry for Your presence, and may my life reflect the truth of Your promises. Strengthen me to remain steadfast in my discipleship journey. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
This week, set a goal: Commit to reading at least one chapter of the Bible every day. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal His truth to you and write down what He speaks to your heart.
Will you abide in His Word and walk in freedom?
