Wonderful Counselor Interview Series: Jan Brown (video blog)

Writer: amylynnlisekamylynnlisek

[Introduction]: Welcome to the new series from Grace in Love, inc. where we are highlighting Christian counselors that are making a real difference in the lives of others. The bible says that Christ is our Wonderful Counselor. And how amazing that He is still working through people today. We'll talk with mental health counselors and talk about how their faith helps them to inspire and help others.

Jan Brown TURNING PAIN INTO PURPOSE
WOW, God is so good. I finally got the chance to sit down with my friend, Jan, to talk about the work she is doing as a Certified Addiction & Drug Counselor as well as the current mental health crisis. #EndTheStigma Jan, you are such an incredible inspiration to us all. Your bravery in telling your story is absolutely admirable and may God bless you in abundance always. How absolutely amazing that you have turned your pain from the loss of your son into a purpose of helping others. How noble of you to be a light in the darkness.
And thank you also for helping me learn how to start sharing my testimony of how Jesus set me FREE. (We didn't really have a chance to plan out our conversation and so I was not expecting this but she ended up counseling me more than I interviewed her- so thank you for that, Jan!!! I just felt very inspired to talk about my current healing process with her).

PS- The enemy tried to steal my voice but Jesus is showing me how to do some SOUL SINGING. Hope this encourages someone: -1st song: Eric Church "Sinners Like Me" -2nd song: Hank Williams Jr. : "Old Habits" Note: If you do struggle with addiction and feel like it may be triggering to listen to the first 2 songs, skip ahead to about the 3:22 mark in the video. -3rd song: Blanca "Even at My Worst" -4th song: We Are the Messengers "God You Are"
