Sent With Purpose: Go, Serve & Trust God

Devotional

Every mission begins with a willing heart. God does not always show us every detail before He asks us to go. Sometimes He simply says, “Go,” and asks us to trust Him with what comes next.

When Jesus gave the Great Commission, He told His disciples to go into all nations, make disciples, baptize them, and teach them His commands (Matthew 28:19–20). This calling was not limited to a select few. As followers of Christ, we are called to be willing vessels through whom God can work.

As we prepare to serve in Mexico, we may have plans for how the day will go. But missions rarely unfolds exactly as expected. Schedules may change, supplies may be different than anticipated, communication may be difficult, or unexpected needs may arise. Our response should not be frustration but flexibility and faith.

Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and not lean entirely on our own understanding. God sees the bigger picture when we cannot.

Our responsibility is simple: show up, be obedient, serve faithfully, and trust God with the results. We may never know the full impact of one prayer, one conversation, or one act of kindness. But God does.

We are not responsible for changing every life we encounter. We are responsible for being faithful with the opportunity God has given us.

Mission Connection

The mission belongs to God. We are His hands and feet, His representatives, and His servants. Go with courage. Serve with humility. Stay flexible. Trust Him when plans change. Leave the results in God's hands.

Reflection

Ask yourself: Am I willing to follow God even when I do not know exactly how everything will unfold? What plans, expectations, or fears do I need to surrender to Him before this mission?

Prayer

Father, thank You for giving us the opportunity to serve You. Give us courage to go, humility to serve, and faith to trust You. Help us remain flexible when things do not happen according to our plans. Give us peace when we face the unexpected and remind us that You are always in control. Use our words, hands, time, and gifts for Your purpose. Help us focus on obedience rather than results. May we represent Christ well and trust You with every person we encounter. Here we are, Lord—send us. In Jesus' name, Amen.
